The Encounter

What would our world be like if everyday, normal, punch-the-clock, flesh & blood, faults and all, human beings had an ENCOUNTER with God that stopped us in our tracks?  An ENCOUNTER that transforms people for eternity.  An ENCOUNTER that gives us a different view of our world.  What if God's presence was so tangible that people could see it, feel it? It has happened in the past.  Solomon's dedication of the Temple; Moses and Joshua on Mt. Sinai; The Day of Pentecost… to name a few.  Some may say that these are for a former time, long ago.  But we say, "He is the same, YESTERDAY, TODAY and FOREVER!" (Hebrews 1:8)

It is with this in mind, that we bring THE ENCOUNTER to churches.  We desire to see all people PURSUE GOD'S PRESENCE and CULTIVATE AN ENVIRONMENT FOR HIM TO DWELL AND REMAIN.  This happens through WORSHIP.  He promises to inhabit the praises of His People (Psalm 22:3, NKJV) and to draw near to those who draw near (James 4:8).  So with all that is within us cries, LORD, REND THE HEAVENS AND COME DOWN! (Isaiah 64:1) and LORD, WE HAVE HEARD OF YOUR FAME, WE STAND IN AWE OF YOUR DEEDS, RENEW THEM IN OUR DAY, IN OUR TIME MAKE THEM KNOWN! (Habakkuk 3:2)

Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
    that the mountains would tremble before you!
As when fire sets twigs ablaze
    and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name known to your enemies
    and cause the nations to quake before you!
 For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
    you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.

Isaiah 64:1-3 (NIV)

Lord, I have heard of your fame;
    I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
    in our time make them known;
    in wrath remember mercy.

Habakkuk 3:2 (NIV)
